Meet the Book Blogger Tag!

What is the Meet the Book Blogger Tag?

Here is the Meet the Book Blogger tag! The lovely ladies over at Bibliomavens came up with ten questions to talk about yourself, your reading habits, your favorite (or not so favorite) books, your ever-growing TBR, and more! It’s just an opportunity for us as bloggers to share some different details about our bookish shelves to each other and our followers.

Here are the rules for this tag:

  • Nominated bloggers can nominate ten other bloggers.
  • Use the same questions from the tag.

Our Questions

  1. Who is your all-time favourite book character?
  2. If you were stranded on a desert island, which book would you take with you? (Survival books do not count)
  3. What’s your most unpopular book opinion?

  7. What about reading and books do you love the most?
  8. What is your field of study/desired profession/current profession?
  9. What are some book recommendations that became your favourites/obsessions?
  10. What is the book you shove down everyone’s throat?

Who is your all-time favourite character?

This is always SO hard. I can never decide, but I’m going to go with Fred Weasley. I have loved him since I was 5 and I continue to love him still. He’s funny, a touch mean, and is a genius!

If you were stranded on a desert island, what book would you bring? (Survival books don’t count)

I used to always say Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire but now I’m thinking I might change that out for The Way of Kings, because it might finally be the push to read it and not be intimidated anymore!

What’s your most unpopular book opinion?

This is probably going to be a hot take. But, romance is not a plot device. You do not use romantic feels to advance a plot. 9/10 it hurts and makes the the book less enjoyable. Romance books don’t use romantic feelings as a plot advancer, therefore YA books do not need to either.

What’s your weirdest bookish habit?

I feel like I don’t have a lot of these, but I guess I can’t read a book with it sitting in my lap. I always have to hold it up and MAN do my arms get tired.

What character would you bring to a family event as your fake partner?

I think I’m going to bring back Fred Weasley. He would not only go over the top but he’d have FUN pretending to be a fake partner.

What made you decide to start a book blog?

I read 18 books in the month of May 2020, and decided I NEEDED to talk about them with someone because my friends in person don’t read. They scoff at it.

What about reading and books do you love the most?

I liked being able to see how stringing words in different ways sounded better or worse. Also, I would never focus on anything and it was incredibly hard for me to read a book with the lines super close together so it became a fun challenge to outweigh my attention problems.

What is your field of study/desired profession/current profession?

I went to school for Advertising and Public Relations, with an emphasis in Public Relations and Management! Basically I went to school to do Marketing and a lot of writing! I ended up focusing more on how companies interact with their publics, and currently I do Social Media, Digital Marketing, and Campaign Coordination! It’s a lot of fun, but I would one day like to add author to that list as well.

What are some book recommendations that became your favourites/obsessions?

Oh boy, I fee like this isn’t going to be as fun because like I said my friends don’t read lol But here we go!

-Mistborn this was great! I adored it and it was my first adult fantasy books I ever read

More Happy Than Not I read this on spring break a few years ago and just cried in the middle of vacation for an house as my friend nodded her head and said yes

-Ellen Hopkins I genuinely don’t know that I would’ve been able to make it through middle school without her incredibly sad books that no middle schooler should read. But they gave me a perspective that I needed at the time.

What is the book you shove down everyone’s throat?

Ninth House!!!! I think I’ve recommended it anytime I suggest a book! But if I’m going to suggest something that I’m not worried for everyone to read, I’d say The Final Empire!

  1. Funny that you mentioned the Mistborn Trilogy and The Final Empire – I was just preparing a post for next week and one of the books I mention in the tag is The Hero of Ages, a book and series I’ve not thought about in ages and now I see it your post 😀

  2. Loved your answers!!! I also love Fred Weasley. I had thought about putting him down as my fake partner too! He would definitely make family dinner interesting. I agree with you that romance is not a plot device. The best romance books have solid plots and some of my fav romance books are because the plot is so good and not just the romance. Romance is an extra, a part of your story, but not the story. Can’t wait to read your book when you add author to that profession list! Thanks for answering the tag, it was fun getting to read your answers! – Amber

  3. Cool tag! You know, I still haven’t read Mistborn. It made it onto my list easily–just the title caught my eye–but for some reason I’ve been hesitant to actually pick it up. I’m not sure why. Everything I’ve ever seen on it was glowingly positive. 😅
